IN MEMORIAM: 'PISTOL' PETE SOHREN

With the passing of Pete Sohren, many at Maxxis have lost someone they considered not just a sponsored driver, but a friend.

A legend in his sport, “Pistol” Pete Sohren rode through the deserts of Baja and the western US, competing in SCORE and Best in the Desert races and attracting fans throughout the world of off-road racing. “Who doesn’t want to be at the very top of their sport? It’s the very peak. They’re the biggest teams and the biggest horsepower and the best suspension and the fastest vehicles in the desert,” he once told Maxxis of his passion for trophy trucks. Sohren was also well-known to viewers of the History Channel series Truck Night in America, which he hosted.

“This is a just terrible loss to everyone who knew him. Pete was a true ambassador of our brand and a friend. I know I speak on behalf of all of us at Maxxis when I say that we send our most heartfelt sympathy to Pete’s family and friends,” said Brad Williams, national sales manager for Maxxis’ automotive tire division.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced. Pete Sohren is survived by his wife Cami and their four children.
