Maxxis has been chosen by General Motors as a Supplier of the Year (SOY) for the ninth straight year. Officials from Maxxis accepted the award at GM’s 34th annual SOY Banquet, held last month in Austin, Texas.

“I know that I speak on behalf of everyone at Maxxis when I say that we are deeply honored. We’re also thrilled to be one of just two tire suppliers chosen for a SOY award this year,” said Maxxis International – USA President Andy Lee. “To meet GM’s expectations is an honor in itself, as well as a goal toward which our team strives throughout the year. We take great pride in our work with GM and are truly thankful for this recognition.”

Dr. Bin Chung, senior vice president of technology for Maxxis, said that the gathering offered benefits in addition to receipt of the SOY award: “Speaking to members of GM’s senior management team enhanced our understanding of their current and future business focus as well as their expectations of their suppliers. I was also pleased to network with other GM Supplier of the Year winners.”

In 2025, GM’s 34th annual Supplier of the Year and Overdrive awards recognize 103 suppliers spanning 14 countries. These suppliers deliver outstanding performance, partnership and innovation in support of GM’s global operations.  Awardees are selected by a global GM team based on performance across key categories such as safety, innovation, execution, resilience and customer support, along with their alignment to GM’s core values and strategic priorities.

“Supplier of the Year is one of those key moments our whole team looks forward to every year because it highlights the partnerships behind every vehicle we build. The results our suppliers deliver throughout the entire product development cycle are central to our ability to deliver world-class vehicles to our customers. When our suppliers, such as Maxxis, lean in with us on new technology and flawless execution, we can move faster, compete harder and unlock more value across the entire supply chain,” said General Motors Senior Vice President, Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer Shilpan Amin.
