Maxxis-Nissan Autocross Partnership Finishes Winning Season
By any measure, a team that’s won 22 trophies in 9 events has had an outstanding season. Riding Maxxis tires, the Nissan Acceleration Team delivered those very results after a year spent competing in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) autocross events. Autocross is a form of grassroots motorsports in which drivers compete in a safe and controlled environment.
This season, the Nissan Acceleration Team competed in SCCA’s HS (H Street) class, driving Nissan’s Maxima™, Leaf™, Sentra™ and Altima™. The team was also successful in the SSM (Super Street Modified) class, driving a Nissan 370Z Clubsport™ equipped with 275/35ZR18 Victra RC-1 tires.
Maxxis offers tires that are ideal for motorsports enthusiasts. The Victra VR-1, an extreme performance summer tire, is a stellar performer, offering excellent traction in dry or wet weather plus consistent lap times. The Victra RC-1, an r-compound competition tire, was designed with feedback from racers to deliver superior grip, handling and heat cycle performance.
“The Nissan Acceleration Team delivered amazing performances throughout the season. We congratulate them, and we thank them for choosing Maxxis,” said Andy Lee, vice president of operations at Maxxis International – USA.
