Maxxis’ Sponsorship Expands to Gulf

In its first sponsorship venture in the Arabian Peninsula, Maxxis will sponsor the 30th GCC Club Cup for the 2015 season.

The GCC Club Cup, which runs from February through June 2, is recognized as the most important annual soccer event in the Gulf region. Twelve teams from the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman – will compete. The championship’s 33 matches are expected to draw hundreds of thousands of soccer fans, and will be televised in at least six GCC countries via seven main TV channels.

As the official and exclusive tire of the championship, Maxxis will receive valuable opportunities to promote its brand. The sponsorship deal includes advertising signboards around the field in view of TV cameras and a Maxxis booth to exhibit products at the stadium. The Maxxis logo will appear during press conferences, in interview backdrops, on the championship’s official website, on tickets and elsewhere.

The GCC deal is the latest step in Maxxis’ ongoing strategy of brand promotion through sponsorship of major teams. Other major professional teams sponsored by Maxxis include the Liverpool FC in the UK and the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Atlanta Braves in the U.S. Maxxis has also sponsored major sports events, including the Australian Open tennis tournament.
