Miller holding her bike

Signed by Kona, Miranda Miller Comes Back to Maxxis

Miranda Miller will again ride Maxxis as she competes with Kona in the Enduro World Series (EWS). The 2017 downhill world champion’s move to the Maxxis-sponsored Kona team was announced today.

Miller will join new teammates Rhys Verner, Connor Fearon, Shelly Flood, and Hannah Bergemann in headlining Kona’s global enduro program. In a departure from her past schedules, she will compete in EWS full-time. “EWS is a new challenge for me. I’ve done events before but never with a commitment to a season; it was always a sideshow to DH. Although EWS is physically tough, you don’t have the high speeds and hard compressions that DH does. When you’re struggling and not mentally 100% into a World Cup DH run, it’s impossible to perform and more dangerous. I love riding my trail bike; I also like exercising, and I like the part of EWS where no one knows what’s going to happen! Let us all just go do something different and something that we’re maybe not as comfortable with,” she said in an interview with Kona.

She’s done well in the face of those high speeds and hard compressions as recently as the past season, when she took second place in the Canadian National DH Championships and third place at Crankworx Rotorua. Miller also made the top ten at three rounds of the UCI World Cup.

Maxxis is proud to sponsor Miranda Miller and all the riders of Team Kona.
