Athletes on Maxxis Victra RC-1 Win at NASA National Championships
Multiple wins in Super Touring 5, Super Touring 6 and TTs 4-6 classes
Drivers armed with the Maxxis Victra RC-1 rampaged over the track at the NASA National Championships to claim multiple wins and podium spots. Maxxis racked up victories in three time trials (with a podium sweep in TT4), Super Touring 5 and Super Touring 6.
Every driver in the Spec E30 class ran the Victra RC-1, with Team Mick Blue, Matthew Ibrahim and Sean Aron taking the top three spots.
After winning the Super Touring 5 championship, driver Larry Moore of the Maxxis-sponsored Team Moorewood Racing expressed his appreciation: “I just want to thank Maxxis Tires for all their support, Magic Developed for putting a great car together, Apex Wheels, Clearwater Lights and Moorewood Creative. We just tried to manage the pace, keep the tires cool, and keep myself cool out there because it’s warm.” Also riding the Victra RC-1, Team Gerardi-Sohus Racing took third place in Super Touring 5.
Todd Green overcame challenges that might have taken another driver out of contention during the Super Touring 6 race. Green moved to the front and ultimately claimed the championship, with Chris Miller in third place. “It’s a 45-minute race. Just take my time. I know I have the speed, I know I have the race craft, and so I would just wait for them to make a small little bobble, set it up and then get a good run on them and then take them in braking,” Green said. Both Green and Miller were on the Victra RC-1.
In Super Touring 4, Kevin Moore of the Maxxis-sponsored Team Magic Developed #37 took the second-place spot on the podium. The team’s Eric Moore also led the podium sweep of TT4, with Scott Smith in second place and Team Vincent Miller in third place, both on the Victra RC-1.
Drivers on Victra RC-1 also did well in time trials. Tim Roberts won TT5; Maxxis’ Team Moorewood Racing took second place. Todd Green won TT6, and Team Mick Blue earned third place. Zack Serna was third on the TT 2 podium.
