The second stop of the Crankworx World Tour landed in Cairns, Australia with a big surprise. Along with the excitement generated by the chance to earn more points for the King and Queen competitions, riders also had a new race format called Full Tilt to look forward to during the week. This new style would put three riders head-to-head-to-head on a track with jumps, berms and technical sections to see who could put the best line together and win. Fans in Cairns were in for a treat! 

First up was the Rockshox Downhill. Sacha Mills (Fox Suspension) put down a solid run, landing her in the third position on the Elite Women’s podium. Jackson Frew (Fox Racing) nabbed his first-ever Crankworx Downhill win, adding to his overall points standing.  

Next, the brand-new competition, Full Tilt, put on a show for both fans at the event and the audience watching live on TV. Of course, the all-around specialist and former Queen of Crankworx Caroline Buchanan (Trek Bikes) was one of the first women to take on the challenge of this new event, and she ended up on the podium in second. In the Elite Men’s race, Jackson Frew added another Crankworx podium to his 2025 season total, slotting into second as well.  

Later that evening, the Pump Track Challenge was as wildly entertaining as ever. Caroline Buchanan followed up her amazing Full Tilt performance with another second–place finish in Elite Women. In the Men’s, Maxxis athlete Jayce Cunning (Lusty) took the win against the Pump Track World Champion and BMX Junior World Champion. 

The Dual Slalom race never gets old, and the Cairns event was awesome. Caroline Buchanan continues to make her case for the 2025 Queen of Crankworx title, adding a third–place medal to her collection. On the King of Crankworx side of things, Jackson Frew’s top-three streak continued, with Frew landing a second–place finish just ahead of fellow Maxxis athlete Bailey Meares (Pivot Cycles). 

Finally, the long-awaited Slopestyle wrapped up the week in Australia. Patricia Druwen (Rose Bikes) and Natasha Miller (Commencal Bikes) represented Maxxis on the Elite Women’s podium, taking second and third on the day. In the Men’s competition, Maxxis rider Chance Moore (Specialized Bikes) flipped to his first ever Crankworx World Tour podium in third.
