Cabirou, Brosnan, Vergier Make World Cup Les Gets DH Podiums; Höll Wins Junior Women’s
SCOTT Downhill Factory Team’s Marine Cabirou took second place in the Elite Women’s race at World Cup Les Gets DH. In Elite Men, Canyon Factory Downhill Team’s Troy Brosnan and Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Loris Vergier made the podium in fourth and fifth places, earning two of the seven top-ten spots Maxxis-sponsored riders took in the category. SRAM TLD Racing’s Vali Höll continued her domination of the Junior Women’s category with yet another decisive win. The race was held July 13 in Les Gets, France.
With a final run that put her within 0.677 seconds of victory, Cabirou turned in another excellent performance. Maxxis-sponsored riders took additional top ten spots, with Insync’s Veronika Widmann grabbing sixth place, Maxxis’ Kate Weatherly in ninth, and Kona Factory Team’s Miranda Miller finishing tenth. Pivot Factory Racing’s Emilie Siegenthaler also did well, earning 12th place.
Cabirou’s teammate Brendan Fairclough made the Elite Men’s top ten in sixth place, with Santa Cruz rider and downhill legend Greg Minnaar in seventh place, David Trummer in eighth place, and Commencal/100%’s Thomas Estaque in ninth. SCOTT’s Dean Lucas was 10th, Pivot’s Edward Masters was 11th, Canyon’s Mark Wallace was 12th, and Kona’s Connor Fearon was 13th.
Höll won Junior Women by 12 seconds, with a final time that would have secured a victory in the Elite Women’s race.
