Landen Brown Second in Sportsman A

As short course and rock crawling series wrap up for the year, results showed Maxxis’ sponsored drivers outperforming the competition once again. This year’s roster of Maxxis champions includes CJ Greaves and Brock Heger, who took titles in Championship Off-Road, and rock crawlers Jesse Haines and Landen Brown, who won their categories in W.E.ROCK.

Heger, this year’s Pro Lite and Pro Stock SxS champion, had praise for both his Maxxis tires and the support he received from Maxxis’ team. “This has been a season I’ll never forget,” said Heger. “Relocating the team to Wisconsin from Southern California ended up being the easy part. Racing several new venues and adapting to ever-changing weather conditions was a real challenge. Our strategy to focus on one race at a time paid off, and we managed to capture both championships! I could not have done it without the support of my Maxxis technicians. They provided me with the variety and quality of tires needed to get several wins and top qualifying results. This has been my best season yet at the highest level of racing in the country, and Maxxis was a massive part of our success!” Heger is no stranger to championship podiums, having racked up past titles in LOORRS’ Pro Lite class and in Best in the Desert in both truck and UTV classes.

CJ Greaves added to his phenomenal string of championships this year when he won the Pro 4 title and was second in Pro Stock SxS. Greaves took championships in the series’ Pro Mod SxS and Pro Stock SxS last year and was second in Pro 4.

Both Heger and Greaves ran on Maxxis’ RAZR AT tires, Maxxis’ flagship all-terrain tire. Designed to maximize traction and durability while minimizing pattern noise and irregular wear, the RAZR AT is the choice of off-road racers who regularly top the podium.

Haines and spotter Chris Poblano took W.E.ROCK’s Unlimited Division championship with a victory at the series’ Grand Nationals. Haines went into W.E.ROCK’s season-ending event ranked second in the series’ Western division for the year. He also brings his pro rock crawling expertise to the creation of buggies for other drivers as the owner of Jesse Haines Fabrication (JHF).

Eight-year-old Landen Brown is not just a leader in an adult sport, taking second place in W.E.ROCK’s Sportsman A category at the series’ Grand Nationals and winning the Mini-Buggy class; he’s a pioneer. According to his father (and spotter), Wyatt Brown, Landen has been driving since age four, following Wyatt and Wyatt’s buddies on trails. At age five, Landen started competing in W.E.ROCK in the youth division that was created for his participation. His Grand Nationals podium is all the more impressive in light of the fact that he was in a new vehicle in which he’d had very little seat time. Four-year-old brother Gunner is eager to jump into the W.E.ROCK arena as well, and Wyatt says that both boys will compete in 2022. Both boys, along with their father, are also just as enthusiastic about their Maxxis tires, which Wyatt praised as “absolutely amazing. If you ask Landen which tire company he likes, you’ll get a very short answer.”

Landen will be honored at the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame October 30. One of the top five honorees, Landen is in contention for the Impact Award, with the winner announced at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.
