Mittag put on an impressive performance
with a 2nd place finish
Maxxis athlete Doug “Fresh” Mittag put on an impressive performance at the Ultra4 King of the Hammers Limited Class Desert Challenge, locking in a 2nd place finish after a hard-fought battle in the brutal high-speed desert race.
The 259.60-mile race, made up of four grueling laps, saw Mittag pushing his limits with an average race speed of 65 mph. Once he moved into second place, he matched the pace of Brock Heger and even managed to shrink the lead to under two minutes on corrected time. Fresh looks to be getting the hang of this desert racing thing, proving he has the speed to run with the best.
Mittag raced on 35-inch Maxxis Roxxzillas, putting their legendary durability and grip to the test in one of the toughest off-road races in the world. With an 8-ply-rated radial construction, the Roxxzillas delivered the performance needed to tackle the unforgiving terrain of Johnson Valley.
With a podium finish at KOH under his belt, Fresh is making waves in the off-road racing world. The King of the Hammers rock race week kicks off Monday, February 3, and there’s plenty more action to come.
