HART Rally Starts the ARA Season Strong at Sno*Drift

The 2023 rally season has barely begun, but the Maxxis-sponsored HART (Honda of America Racing Team) Rally team is already racking up impressive results.

At the ARA (American Rally Association) Sno*Drift in February, Gabriel Nieves and Joseph Armstrong drove their 2017 Honda Civic to first in the class on Stage 12 and fourth overall in their L2WD class. The novice team averaged 33 mph during the 117-mile race, trusting Maxxis Arctic Trekker SP-02 tires to take them through wintry conditions in Atlanta, Michigan. Fellow team members John Sharps and Weston Davis also turned in a strong performance even though they were forced to withdraw before the end of the race due to technical issues. Driving a Honda Passport equipped with Maxxis Victra Snow SUV MA-SW tires, the two averaged 36 mph and were strongest in Stage 5, when they were sixth in their L4WD class.

Made up of Honda Development & Manufacturing of America employees, this team competes in rally racing purely for the love of the sport. “Co-driving my first event with constantly changing conditions made for a great show in front of hundreds of spectators that lined the stages, especially in the fan-favorite Passport!” said Weston Davis, co-driver of the Honda Passport.

“We are proud of the performance of the novice teams in the Honda Civic and Passport. Both teams had a strong showing, and the tires held up throughout the rally stages. Maxxis is proud to sponsor HART Rally and wishes them the best in their upcoming races.” said Maxxis OE Account Manager Mark Lin.
