Hunter Miller Finishes His First-Ever Dakar Rally
Turning in a top 10 SSV class finish
In his first-ever attempt, Hunter Miller completed one of the world’s most brutal races, the Dakar Rally. Miller was tenth in SSV class general rankings after covering a course that defeated many athletes well before the final stage, posting a final time of 74 hours, 27 minutes and 50 seconds.Designed to conquer giant rocks and desert conditions, Maxxis Roxxzilla tires took Miller through the deserts of Saudi Arabia. Along with his Can-Am Maverick R, Roxxzillas helped him handle giant rocks, blinding dust, mud and camel grass. The 2025 Dakar Rally also required that Miller and other athletes cross the notoriously difficult Empty Quarter, known as the hottest spot on the planet with summer temperatures reaching more than 142° Fahrenheit/61° Celsius.
The Dakar Rally was the first race of this year’s World Rally Raid Championship, which continues February 21-27 with the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.
Miller’s next race is every bit as daunting as the Dakar Rally: He’ll head to the U.S.A. for the toughest week of one-day off-road races in the world, King of the Hammers, scheduled for January 23 – February 8 on public lands in Johnson Valley, California.
