Kintner 4th, Bryceland 5th at DH World Cup #6; Buchanan Wins 4X Gold

The final Downhill World Cup of the season brought good news for Maxxis, with a fourth place finish for Jill Kintner, fifth place for Josh Bryceland and third place overall for Greg Minnaar. Minnaar did not compete in the round, held September 21-22 in Leogang, Austria, due to an injury.

Kintner got off to a good start for the weekend, taking third place in Saturday’s qualifying run. Her run the following day, on drier terrain, earned her fourth place for the round, a result which pleased the Team NORCO rider. “I was determined to get on the podium this weekend. The course suited me well, and I just felt prepared,” said Kintner. “In practice, I was ticking off boxes each run and really pushing myself to find speed everywhere I could. The ground dried out a lot from the morning practice and was rolling faster, which was good, but I definitely had a couple of wild moments sliding around a bit. Obviously, this is a big confidence boost and will give me plenty of motivation for the offseason.” Bryceland made the men’s top five with a run just three and a half seconds behind the winning rider’s.

Caroline Buchanan topped the podium for Maxxis, winning gold in Elite Women’s Four Cross. Buchanan sprinted to victory, dominating the race from start to finish.

Maxxis congratulates Caroline Buchanan on her victory and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
