Logan Leitzel Makes Top 10 at AMA Supercross Championship Round 12
AMA Supercross Championship, Foxborough MA
Maxxis’ sponsored athlete Logan Leitzel had one incredible Saturday night. Not only did the ISRT/MX4Christ Kawasaki Race Team rider qualify for an AMA Supercross Championship main event for the first time, he then made the top ten in the main, finishing ninth in 450.
Competition from athletes whom Leitzel later called “the greatest in the world” would have been enough, but Round 12 of the series presented other challenges: He delivered an outstanding performance despite strong winds and persistent rain that turned every heat into a battle against the elements. Leitzel first qualified through Heat 2 with an impressive P7 finish, and then rode a smart, consistent race to P9 in the main.
Leitzel’s teammate Bubba Pauli made the main for the first time since 2019, finishing P16. “This one felt good but we will keep working, I want more!” an elated Pauli said later on Instagram. Freddie Noren fought his way through unforgiving conditions to nearly make the main but was slowed by the mud.
AMA Supercross Championship Round 13 is coming up April 12 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Fans in the U.S. can watch race day live on Peacock starting at 9:30 AM ET and catch the race starting at 3:00 PM ET on NBC, Peacock, SiriusXM, and Telemundo Deportes. Fans outside the U.S. can watch race day coverage beginning at 1:30 GMT and the race at 7:00 PM GMT on SuperMotocross VideoPass.
Maxxis can’t wait to see these athletes race to the podium again this weekend!
