In a major expansion of its presence at Crankworx, Maxxis will be a gold-level sponsor of the iconic festival series from 2019 through 2021. Previously, Maxxis only supported the Whistler stop of the series.
The company will now sponsor Crankworx festivals at Rotorua, New Zealand; Innsbruck, Austria, and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Maxxis’ sponsorship also includes naming rights for the slopestyle event in Rotorua, which will be known as the “Maxxis Slopestyle in Memory of McGazza” through 2021. The name honors the late mountain biking legend and New Zealand native Kelly McGarry.
Crankworx fans will see a major Maxxis presence at every event, with unique giveaways thrown into the mix.
Maxxis officials are enthusiastic about the deal. “As long time sponsors of Crankworx Whistler, we jumped at the chance to expand our support to the full calendar of events,” said Maxxis Assistant Marketing Manager Aaron Chamberlain. “Maxxis makes the best mountain bike tires in the world, and Crankworx throws the best mountain bike festivals in the world, making this an ideal partnership. With the huge variety of events at each stop, Crankworx is the perfect showcase for our athletes and products. We have some exciting things planned for Rotorua and beyond!”
