Maxxis Chosen as a Tyre Supplier for Karting Australia

Maxxis has been chosen as one of just two tire companies to supply tires for Karting Australia, the official body which oversees karting in the country. Under the terms of the just-announced agreement, Maxxis’ Cadet-KA tires will be the exclusive tire for Karting Australia’s Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 classes from 2022 through 2026.

The Cadet-KA was selected from an original group of 20 tires from five tire companies, after an exhaustive process which included submission of detailed proposals and testing data, as well as independently conducted on-track testing supervised by Karting Australia. The Cadet-KA, also known as M190D, is distributed in Australia by St George Karts and features outstanding durability even on the most abrasive tracks.

“At Maxxis Tires, we are very pleased to be chosen as the supplier for the Cadet classes in Karting Australia competition,” said Harm Schuurman of Maxxis Tires in Australia. “To be chosen to supply these categories fits perfectly with the philosophy of Maxxis Chairman Dr. Wally Chen who always strives to provide the younger generation with the ability to succeed while using high-quality products.”

Kelvin O’Reilly, CEO of Karting Australia, was also pleased with the outcome of the selection process: “As an Organisation, we’re delighted to welcome the Maxxis and LeCont brands into Karting Australia sanctioned competition. It was an extremely competitive tender and to have such high-quality tires from a variety of brands to select from was an incredibly hard decision for the Board.”

“I am confident that we have selected great tires that are really appropriate for each competition group. We wanted to get a group of tires that provide great value for money, and I think we have done that. From all the data provided and testing that we have done, I firmly believe that we have an outstanding group of tires for the respective classes for the next five years. I look forward to seeing Licence Holders across the country enjoy the new tires in competition from January next year.”
