There were almost too many Maxxis victories to list at Championship Off-Road’s Polaris World Championships, held September 4-6 in Crandon, Wisconsin. From Saturday’s wins in Pro 4, Pro 2 and Pro Lite to Sunday’s championships in Pro 2 and Pro Lite plus a World Cup (Pro 2 vs. Pro 4) victory, this is one Labor Day weekend that Maxxis fans won’t soon forget.
Running Maxxis RAZR AT tires, Jimmy Henderson delivered a stellar performance at Crandon, winning Round 13’s Pro 4 race and the first Crandon World Cup of his career the next day. “It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet and I’m still trying to take it all in,” he said on Instagram. “Red Bull World Cup Champions. There are wins that mean a little more, and this is one of them. I know Kyle LeDuc was flying high with us on this one. Bringing it home in the chrome 44 made this moment that much more special…You could feel the energy around The Big House all weekend, and we felt every bit of it. This is one we’ll never forget.” Henderson leads the Pro 4 class in points.
Connor Barry won both the weekend’s Pro Lite races and holds a 57-point lead in rankings for the class. Barry ran Maxxis RAZR AT-S tires at Crandon.
Nick Byng ran Maxxis Bravo AT-771 tires and successfully defended his Super Stock Truck championship. The title is his second in a row and the third of his career.
Brody Sands took the Pro Stock SxS victory at Round 13 and won the Pro SxS race at the next day’s Crandon World Championships. His elation shone through in an Instagram post after the weekend’s races: “WHAT A WAY TO FINISH AT THE BIG HOUSE! 1st place in Pro Stock BOTH days this weekend! After everything this season has thrown at us, ending the year with two wins and on the top step of the podium means more than I can put into words. This season had its highs, its lows, and plenty of moments that tested us, but we kept working through them together and came out stronger…This season will always mean a lot to me, but I know this is only the beginning. There’s so much more I want to accomplish, and I’m just getting started. Couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.” Sands ran Maxxis SC-1 tires and is sixth in points.
Also on Maxxis SC-1 tires, Pro SxS points leader Jeb Bootle won the class at the World Championships and joined Sands on the Pro Stock SxS podium in second place. Maxxis swept the podium in Sunday’s Pro SxS race, with Cash LeCroy and Kolton Krajicek in second and third place.
Keegan Kincaid won Sunday’s Pro World Championship race on Maxxis RAZR AT tires and is sixth in overall points. “Feeling thankful for all the people in our corner! It takes an army!” he said on Instagram.
