Maxxis’ Hunter Miller Conquers Brutal Desert Terrain in the Dakar Rally

Blinding dust is just one of the challenges faced by the Can-Am Factory Team’s Hunter Miller as he powers through the 2025 Dakar Rally, one of the world’s toughest races. Beating the odds and the rugged environment, Miller and teammates had a “dusty but successful” Stage 2, a 48-hour stage so brutal that athletes have to help each other just to complete it.

The Dakar Rally, the first race of this year’s World Rally Raid Championship, began January 3 and runs through January 17 over a course that winds through the harsh desert terrain of Saudi Arabia. Challenges include rocks, mud, dunes, camel grass and today’s Empty Quarter, a region which is normally the hottest on Earth.

Miller’s Can-Am Maverick R side-by-side is equipped with Maxxis Roxxzilla tires. With 8-ply-rated construction, the Roxxzilla is ideal for rugged desert conditions.

Fans can follow all the action on Peacock TV in the U.S., Miller’s Instagram account and any of the official broadcasters listed at Dakar.com.
