Multiple Podiums for Maxxis Athletes at 2020 World Champs XC & DH
After covering a brand new course turned muddy and slick by heavy rain, David Trummer took second place in Elite Men’s DH at the UCI Leogang World Championships, finishing in 3:54.440. Trummer was joined on the podium by Mark Wallace in fourth place and Bernard Kerr in fifth. Marine Cabirou made the top ten in the Elite Women’s race, taking ninth place.

Conditions were somewhat better earlier in the day when Bec McConnell barley lost out in a sprint to the line for second, landing her on the third step of the podium. Sina Frei also took a podium for Maxxis, finishing fourth in Elite Women’s XC. Erin Huck made the top 20 in the race, taking 17th, and Nino Schurter took ninth place in Elite Men’s XC.

Oisin O’Callaghan took a victory in Leogang, winning the Junior Men’s DH in 4:02.142.
Other Maxxis riders also finished in the top ten in Elite Men’s DH. Jack Moir earned sixth place, Greg Williamson took seventh place, Troy Brosnan was eighth, and Loris Vergier rounded out the top ten. Vergier was first in Friday’s men’s qualifier.
After taking first place in the women’s qualifier Friday, Vali Höll was injured during practice for Sunday’s main events and was forced out of the competition. Maxxis wishes her a swift recovery and looks forward to cheering her on to victory later in the season.
