Ranuio, Jones Take First, Second Saturday at Best in the Desert Laughlin Desert Classic
Maxxis’ sponsored athletes know that the RAZR XT thrives on the brutal conditions of desert racing, and they trust this rugged tire to take them straight to the podium. That trust paid off for Vito Ranuio, who conquered the King Shocks Best in the Desert Laughlin Desert Classic course to take the UTV Turbo Pro win in Saturday’s race.
Ranuio and co-driver Joey Olsin finished in 1 hour, 5 minutes and 26 seconds; their fellow Maxxis rider Dustin “Battle Axe” Jones followed a mere six seconds later to take second place. The two also did well in Sunday’s race, with Jones taking third place and Ranuio finishing fourth in the class.
The Classic’s four 16-mile laps required athletes to take on more than punishing desert terrain, but the RAZR XT was ready to meet the challenge. Along with precision steering and cornering and excellent traction, the RAZR XT features high-density, double steel-belted carcass construction, providing stability for the race’s high-speed sections.
The next Best in the Desert race, the Shock Therapy UTV Legends Championship presented by Fox, is scheduled for November 9-12 in Laughlin.
