Canyon EWS racer sending it down rocks

Rude Wins, Thoma 3rd at Enduro World Series Round 3

Richie Rude dominated both days of the latest Enduro World Series race, riding Maxxis tires to a Round 3 victory. Canyon Factory Enduro Team’s Ines Thoma came to this race determined to be on the women’s podium, and she succeeded, earning third-place. Maxxis-sponsored riders earned a total of six spots in the men’s top ten and four spots in the women’s. Round 3 was held May 12-13 in Montagnes du Caroux, France.

After an intense battle with Adrien Dailly (Team Lapierre) throughout Day 2, Yeti/Fox Shox Factory Team’s Rude finished with a decisive five-second margin of victory. Also locked in a fierce contest for much of the day was Canyon Factory Team’s Florian Nicolai, who ultimately earned fourth place. Damien Oton of Unior Devinci Factory Racing took fifth place; Robin Wallner of Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team was ninth; and Wallner’s teammate Lewis Buchanan rounded out the men’s top ten. Wallner and Oton are currently second and third in men’s rankings for the series.

Thoma earned her place on the women’s podium with a steady performance throughout Day 2. She was joined in the women’s top ten by Giant Factory Off-Road Team’s Rae Morrison in seventh place; Ibis’ Bex Baraona in ninth place; and Becky Cook of Orbea Enduro Team in tenth place.

Yeti rider Duncan Nason took his second win of the season in the U21 category and is currently first in the series’ U21 standings.

Maxxis also sponsors the top two teams in EWS’ rankings, Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team and Canyon Factory Enduro Team.

Round 4 of the Enduro World Series, the Black Hole Enduro, is scheduled for June 30 – July 1 in Petzen/Jamnica, Austria-Slovenia. Maxxis congratulates Richie Rude and Duncan Nason on their victories and thanks all of these riders for their fine performances.
