Ten thousand cheering fans watched as Schurter sprinted the last 150 meters beside Anton Cooper and won in a literal photo finish. “First I thought I had him, then I saw him coming on the right. That’s the hardest sprint I ever did. I love this track; it suits me quite well, and I felt pretty good today. I wasn’t able to get away from the other guys, so it was a crazy finish,” the Scott-SRAM rider told cyclingnews.com. Schurter dominated much of the race from the beginning to the end.
