Bad weather torpedoed qualifying Friday and racing Saturday. But...
Mickey Thomas and Trey Gibbs were fired up and ready to win on RAZR AT tires Sunday at the Big House. Thomas won Pro 2 and Gibbs won Pro Lite at the delayed AMSOIL Championship Off-Road Round 5 race.
“Couldn’t be more proud of my team for giving me the perfect truck to win Round 5 of the @champoffroad series here at The Big House @crandonoffroad. The crew is working hard to re-prep the #44 @mystiklubes x @maxxistires Pro2 for the @crandonoffroad cup race!” Thomas said on Instagram. Thomas, who went on to take second place in the Crandon Cup, holds an 11-point lead in Pro 2 points with a total of 253, and Gibbs leads Pro Lite by 33 points with a total of 272.
Plans for a rescheduled Round 6 haven’t been announced, but the next scheduled Championship Off-Road races are planned for July 12-13 at Elk River Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota.
