UHC’s Hall Wins Overall at Tour Femenino de San Luis  

A year after capturing the mountain jersey in the 2015 event, Team UnitedHealthcare’s Katie Hall won the overall GC at the Tour Femenino de San Luis.The race was held January 10-15 in El Durazno, San Luis, Argentina. 

Posting a final time of 13:56:45, Hall took her overall win via a victory in Stage 5, the next-to-last of the race. Aided by her teammates, who formed a tight group at the front of the peloton throughout the day, Hall attacked on the final climb. Making her way into the front group, she made steady progress until she took the lead and five kilometers later, the stage win. 

In the sixth and final stage, Hall’s teammates worked together to ensure that she kept her overall lead by fending off any attackers with a chance to overtake her in the GC. “The team was unbelievably strong all week. I was really happy to take the stage win on the climb. I only got the chance because the team covered every attack and allowed me to focus on the final climb,” Hall said. With the overall victory, she bested her own fine performance in 2015, when she won the Tour’s mountain’s classification.
