UHC’s White Wins, TIBCO’s Ryan 2nd at Glencoe

The Glencoe Grand Prix saw Maxxis riders on both the men’s and women’s podiums as Brad White took a victory and Kendal Ryan took a second place spot. The race was held May 31 in Glencoe, Illinois.

White’s win was his second in a row at Glencoe. Although an early attack was cut short by another rider’s crash, the UnitedHealthcare rider was part of a four-man lead group which continued to race after remounting their bikes. He attacked repeatedly during the final laps and won with a last-second pass on another rider. “This is a great race. I’m glad to be back with the crit squad, and it’s nice to race close to my home in Michigan. My family was here tonight, so it was extra special to win with them here to watch,” he said.

Crashes also plagued the women’s race earlier in the day, but Team TICBCO’s Ryan took second place with a sprint to the finish line. Teammate Samantha Schneider, who provided the lead-out for Ryan’s sprint, took fourth place. Ryan followed her stellar performance at Glencoe with another turn on the podium, this time as the winner of the Cobb Park Criterium elsewhere in Illinois.

Maxxis congratulates Brad White and Kendal Ryan on their victories and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
