Vegas to Reno: Maxxis has what it takes.

Multiple Triumphs for Maxxis at Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno

With most riding RAZR XT tires, Maxxis athletes pushed through 555 miles of brutal desert terrain to top the podium at Best in the Desert’s Casey Folks Vegas to Reno, with Bret Greenholz, Zack Kisman and Todd Zuccone dominating their  classes. The race also featured an extra incentive for every driver in the form of the Maxxis Tires Final 48, a cash contingency awarded to drivers in select classes who clocked the fastest time from Pit 13 to the finish.

Greenholz, who took the Quad Pro victory, said his Maxxis tires are a key factor in his success: “When you trust your setup, it makes your pit stops and rider swaps so much faster. With the help of @imsproducts quickfill, we can fill our 3.6 gallon tank in under 15 seconds. Running on @maxxistires filled with @tireblocksofficial we never change a tire…We have said it before and we will continue to say it- you can make or break a race in the pit. Extremely thankful for our pit crew, made up of our two wives and our two boys. Family racing at its finest.”

The race was also a family affair for Zuccone, whose son Jacob joined him on the UTV Super Stock podium in second place.

Kisman was elated to win UTV Pro N/A. “Wow what an amazing race!! We pulled it off and took home the class win. Thank you everyone who helped get me on top! My co-driver @tony_6.7 was on point and the whole @gfiracing crew kept me moving all day!” he said. Kisman also posted the fastest time and won the contingency for the Maxxis Tires Final 48.

Other Maxxis athletes also made the podium, including Cody Miller, who took second place in UTV Turbo Pro and later posted the fastest time in the class in the Maxxis Tires Final 48. Cody and his brother Hunter have made a name for themselves over the past few years in grueling King of the Hammers races; Vegas to Reno was their first venture into other desert racing series.

Henry Anderson rode his Maxxis tires to second place in MC Open Pro.

In Trick Truck, Team Honda’s Ethan Ebert was hindered by vapor lock issues after leading for the first half of the race. Despite that considerable challenge, he battled his way to eighth place.

Maxxis offered the special, one-time Maxxis Tires Final 48 as an expression of support and appreciation for desert racing and all those who work so hard to make the sport so successful. Maxxis thanks Best in the Desert and RacingTraX for coordinating logistics to track the results.

Please note: All results are unofficial until confirmed by Best in the Desert.
