Weller, Morris, Heger Win at LOORRS Silver State Showdown

Bradley Morris took the Pro 2 victory, Corry Weller led a Maxxis sweep of the Turbo UTV podium, and Brock Heger won Production 1000 UTV at LOORRS’ Silver State Showdown. The sixth round of the season, the Silver State Showdown was held July 21 in Sparks, Nevada.

Like every racer at Round 6, Morris and his fellow racers faced a difficult track made more challenging by heavy rain and the resulting slick conditions. But after closely following the lead driver for most of the Pro 2 race, Morris made a pass to take the lead on the seventh lap, and held the front spot through the finish. Rodrigo Ampudia ran a steady race to take fourth place, and Jeremy McGrath overcame a mid-race spinout to take sixth. McGrath, Morris, and Ampudia are currently fourth, fifth, and sixth in points for the season.

Weller and Paul O’Brien led the pack from the start of the Turbo UTV race. O’Brien took second place on the podium, while Myles Cheek (riding for Ronnie Anderson) rounded out the top three. Weller maintained her lead in points for the class with her victory; O’Brien is a close second in the race for the championship.

Like Weller and O’Brien, Heger led from the start of his race. He was joined on the Production 1000 UTV podium by Jason Weller in third place. Heger and Weller are first and second in points for the class.

Other Maxxis-sponsored drivers also turned in excellent performances in Saturday’s races. Mickey Thomas and Heger took second and third place in Pro Lite, and Adrian Cenni made the Pro 4 podium in third place. Doug Mittag took sixth place in Pro 4.

LOORRS’ Rounds 7 and 8 are scheduled for August 24-25 in Tooele, Utah. Maxxis congratulates Bradley Morris, Brock Heger, and Corry Weller on their victories and thanks all of these drivers for their fine performances.
