Whiskey Off-Road: Double Victory for htSQD

The Whiskey Off-Road is famous for its classic, grueling style of cross-country racing that gets riders anxious to come back and do it all over again every year. With 15, 25 and 50-mile options, amateurs and pros alike flock to Prescott, Arizona for this one-of-a-kind event. This year was the 19th anniversary of the race, and Maxxis was onsite to support racers and talk tires as a title sponsor.

Unfortunately, one of the marquee pieces of the Whiskey Off-Road, the fat tire criterium, was canceled just minutes before the race due to a heavy thunderstorm. Although bummed, the pro female athletes who were about to take to the course went for a parade lap in the rain to thank the fans who eagerly awaited the action.

Sunday saw the pro athletes take to the tough 50-mile course which traversed Prescott’s finest mountain bike trails. While there were many fierce competitors in the Men’s field, Keegan Swenson (htSQD) once again had a tremendous ride and took the win on the Maxxis Aspen. Maxxis Factory Racing‘s Sean Fincham had another strong result, taking fifth on the day. On the other side, but on the same team, Alexis Skarda (htSQD) bested Hannah Finchamp at the line to earn the Pro Women’s victory. Alexis was also on Maxxis Aspens, utilizing the 120 TPI variant for increased puncture resistance (but more weight) versus the Team Spec 170 TPI casing.

Another fun weekend in Prescott! Thanks to all who came out to race and those who stopped by to talk at the Maxxis tent!
