Maxxis athletes take wins at CHAMP rounds 1 & 2
Adrian Cenni, aka the Wildman, brought the fire to the AMSOIL Championship Off-Road opener this weekend when he took the Pro 4 victory at Saturday’s race. He was third at Round 2 the following day and now leads the early points race with a total of 103. “LEAVING RD 1 ON TOP OF THE BOX HERE IN DIRT CITY!” a triumphant Cenni posted on Instagram.
“Couldn’t have done it without my amazing team giving me one fast truck! I’m feeling good and not letting up this year!” Both Cenni and the race lived up to the hype of the pre-race video he posted on YouTube late last week. Fellow Maxxis athlete Jimmy Henderson joined Cenni on the Pro 4 podium in third place Saturday.
Mickey Thomas took a win for Maxxis Saturday as well, placing first in Pro 2. On Instagram, an elated Thomas commented and posted a photo that included himself, his wife and their infant son: “We battled hard today and came home with some hardware! It’s a special win with our boy here at his first race getting a taste of short course.”
After coming in a strong second in the Round 1 Pro Lite race, Trey Gibbs blazed to victory at Round 2 the next day. “Got it done today making it 2-1 on the weekend! Proud of my team for giving me a solid truck all weekend & working their butts off this off season. Ready to go into Antigo charging! Thank you everyone who makes this all possible!” Gibbs said on Instagram.
Maxxis thanks these athletes for this great start to the 2024 season and looks forward to the next Championship Off-Road event, scheduled for June 8-8 at Antigo Lions Raceway in Antigo, Wisconsin.
