The weekend’s X Games in Sacramento were a triumph for Maxxis and for Patrick Evans and Wyatt Fontenot: Both athletes earned medals on the company’s Maxxcross IH tires. His winning Nac Nac no-hander front flip, a first for competition, earned him a final score of 95.66. He told Cycle News that Best Trick is “the gnarliest thing you can do, so I never thought I’d have it. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I really didn’t think I’d win, even if I stuck my trick. I thought someone else would have something gnarlier.”

It’s been an incredible journey getting to this point with so many ups and downs that have taught me what I need to get me here. It’s a blessing and such a opportunity to be at @xgames and after 4 years, I got my first medal. What a feeling I don’t want to shake, time to get to work for the next round and I can’t wait for New Orleans,” an elated Fontenot said on Instagram.
